Life isn't easy if nobody believes you.

Sarah Harrison had been taught this lesson three times in the past month, and from three different sources at that.

"I'm afraid your job application has been unsuccessful" said the owner of a large paper company.
"It's not working out" said her ex-boyfriend.
"You're insane" said an old man she met in a pub, who's sanity was equally as questionable.

We are who, we are who we were when"

Everything should be recyclable in the future, shouldn't it?

Josh stood, staring at the wall. The poster-sized image was one he'd never expected to see, at least not like this... As an actual employee of the company he'd always dreamed of working for.

"The Values of Dynamic Extend Corporation:

The Bank Job

Liam sat in the passenger seat of the rented blue sedan, thinking about how stupid robbing a bank was in this modern age of computers. He was supposed to be concentrating on the man with the yellow scar running down his face and where he is right now. Liam couldn’t see the man any more.

Dr Marian Noel looked out on the desolation and ruins a few feet from her laboratory window. Apart from a few sections of the once titanic facility, all that was left were the armoury and science block where she stood on the 15th floor.
Taking off her white rimmed oval glasses the sharpness of what her spectacles delivered became dull, hazy; maybe this was a good thing? She thought. Her eyes immediately began to sting with the strain and she placed the glasses back on, bringing back the vision she could do without.

There she was on the other side. On the other side, she sat beside Tristan. And as the chill of the night got cooler, Tristan pulled her closer in his arms and covered her body with his jacket.

I was seated across them. Across them, I sat. And as he took her in his arms, I looked away.

Meet Dave, the protagonist of this story. He lives in a small bungalow which sits in the most heavily industrialised area of Coventry. He doesn’t own a television, just a small old-fashioned radio and a dangerously overcrowded book shelf. Of all the seasons, autumn and winter are his favourites; when the trees are dyed with reds and oranges or absent of leaves altogether. Dave never ate his vegetables as a child nor did he eat any at the age of thirty-three and a half, the age he was now. His least favourite day of the year is St. Patrick’s Day, and his least favourite animals are frogs.

#8 Avoidance posted by liswrites

She could have avoided it, every last bit of trouble, if only she had the will to stop herself before she’d gone too far. Her pursuer managed to gain momentum and regain his composure after she’d knocked him flat on his face. Before she could turn back he’d claimed her left foot, leaving her unsteady. He began to pull, an action that should have sent her tumbling and given him the advantage. If he’d any idea what she was capable of, if she had known how to control it, she would have someone to question now. Instead, she felt the adrenaline kick in as he’d claimed her and pulled back her foot.

In the dark, the doctor stands over her daughter’s bed. In her hands, the X-Ray. The translucent sheet is inches above wheezing Ali’s writhing, shriveled lungs, buried beneath a barrier of flesh and cotton. A small pole of light connects the square of dark plastic and the 9 year-old’s green pajama top.

It started in Kansas City like so many things that go unnoticed do. Rosie, a Short Haired German Pointer, lolled in the summer heat on ground worn bare and stuck her nose again into an empty water bowl. Flies and gnats buzzed around her face stealing what little moisture seeped from her lips. She shook her head listlessly whining at the pain of the tight chain digging into her raw skin.
